It started with a simple swipe to the right and the rest is history…

Our first date was in 2019 and with a spur of the moment decision we ended up going bowling. I wasn’t sure if I made a mistake when he told me he owned his own bowling ball and shoes, but after an evening of good conversation and plenty of laughs I realized this guy was adora-bowl and we were on a roll!

In December of 2022 Rene arranged a romantic weekend getaway in the Poconos where he got down on one knee like the true gentleman he is and asked me to become his wife. Although I was completely confused, once I realized what was happening my answer was a resounding YES!

Rene has joined me in my love for travel and theater and we are so excited to continue to explore the world together as a family.

We purchased our first home together in Torrington in June of 2023 and we are looking forward to making memories to last a lifetime as we gather with family and friends.

While I love everything about Rene, some of my favorite qualities include his ability to stay positive, his sense of humor and his willingness to try new things. Rene has taught me the true meaning of unconditional love and acceptance. He allows me to be who I am. Aside from being an amazing partner, witnessing him in his role as a father speaks directly to the quality of man he is. He consistently demonstrates pure love, patience, understanding and his ability to put those that he loves before himself. We may be complete opposites, but we work perfectly together. Rene is my home, Rene is my heart. He is the rock to my roll!!

When Rene was asked what he loved most about me, his list was long but worth sharing! “I love her beautiful smile and infectious energy. How she is able to communicate and express her feelings and opinions. She challenges me and brings out the best in me, spoiling me with love and affection. I love how close she is with her family and how they made me feel so welcomed from day one. I love how her relationship with Emmaleigh has grown throughout the years. Makia is adventurous and enjoys exploring new places. She adds balance and excitement to my life. She supports my dreams and endeavors no matter how weird they may be! Makia is my forever person who has improved my life. I will never forget that magical word that started it all, “Boyyyyyy.”
